Winter School Holiday Workshops

Choose Your Own Adventure  

Due to the popularity of our holiday program, we are now extending our school holiday program to three days and offering a series of exciting workshops. How you choose to engage is up to you, with a choice of single workshops or creative bundles. 

Over three days of varied workshops, you can follow your curiosity and create something new each session or commit to an ambitious idea and continue developing a single artwork. This could include producing a ceramic work with multiple matching components or evolving your practice in a completely different direction each time. You are the artist, how you work, and what you decide to create is entirely up to you.

Day 1 - Wednesday 15 July 

 

 

Session 1: Vivid Visuals: Where Colours Collide 

10:00am – 12:00pm 

We start this experience in the gallery and then move to the Japanese garden, inspired by artist Zico Albaiquni and his work ‘To all the steps that shake the land’s memory’. 

Drawing on colour and storytelling children will create an artwork inspired by places and conversations they experienced during the gallery tour.  

 

Session 2: Time Warped - Campbelltown is the future  

1:00pm – 3:00pm  

Step into the future and bring your ideas to life! In this dynamic workshop, you’ll create your own visual story using Claymation and stop-motion animation. 

What to expect: 

This session is perfect for beginners wanting to dip their toe into Claymation for one session, or for those ready to dive deeper and expand their ideas across multiple days, refining characters and building detailed worlds.

Day 2 - Thursday 16 July 

 

 

Session 1: Press & Pattern 

10:00am – 12:00pm  

Inspired by our annual ‘Friends Annual’ exhibition, this playful session kicks off with a lively 30-minute interactive gallery tour, followed by hands-on artmaking exploring impression making to create a pattern.  

 

Session 2: Time Warped - Campbelltown is the future  

1:00pm – 3:00pm  

Step into the future and bring your ideas to life! In this dynamic workshop, you’ll create your own visual story using Claymation and stop-motion animation.

Day 3 - Friday 17 July 

 

 
Session 1: Tactile Textiles 

10:00am – 12:00pm 

Kirtika Kain’s exhibition ‘Pitch’ showcases a multi-material textile composition that incorporates bitumen, turmeric, and gold to create an intricate, luminous surface. 

Inspired by Kain’s use of unconventional materials, children will create their own wall hanging while exploring the context and artistic ideas behind the work.
