Campbelltown Arts Centre and NAISDA Dance College are thrilled to continue their partnership in 2026, delivering an inspiring program designed to nurture professional dance pathways and deepen cultural knowledge for Aboriginal young people.
This multi-stage initiative empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from the Macarthur and Western Sydney regions to discover and amplify their creative voices. Through artistic mentorship in dance, cultural traditions, and performance, participants will learn from community Elders, renowned dance artists, and some of Australia’s brightest emerging contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dancers.
The 2026 Burra Bumal Mentorship Program is a free program that offers a transformative experience for up to 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 9–11 who are passionate about dance and culture. The program includes:
Excursion to the 2026 NAISDA Dance College mid-year show
On Country visits in both Dharawal country and Darkinjung country
A three-day residency at NAISDA Dance College in Gosford
Final dance rehearsals and performance at Campbelltown Arts Centre
This annual program represents a powerful collaboration between Campbelltown Arts Centre and NAISDA Dance College which continues to create meaningful opportunities for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from the Macarthur and Western Sydney regions.
