It is a piece of networked writing reflecting the conditions of the collaboration itself, across text, audio (voice notes) and videos/gifs. Fractured, asynchronous, simultaneous and stretched across time/space/internet bandwidth, the writing draws from a lineage of net.art and hypertext. Through portals of subtext and context, we traverse themes of personal rituals of mourning, sonic and visual witnessing of communal rites, and the post-ritualistic affect of memory and remembrance. EXPLORE WORK Nithya Nagarajan is a medium-agnostic artist, curator and writer with an expansive practice that stems from the micro and macro qualities of movement. Select creative credits include NAYIKA: A Dancing Girl (Co-Creator and Co-Director – Belvoir St Theatre 2024), The Jungle and The Sea (Assistant Director – Belvoir St Theatre 2022), Sacred Grooves for Secular Spaces (Director, MPavilion 2020) and Outwitted! (Co-Director, Happenstance 2017). She also serves as Curator and Artist Development at Parramatta Artists Studios and has previously held senior roles at Arts House, Creative Australia and the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). She holds an award-winning PhD in performance studies and is the co-founder of the South Asian artist collective H-ME W-RK. Vishal Kumaraswamy is an artist-curator based in Bengaluru, India. His practice employs experimental technologies and anti-caste curatorial frameworks to investigate a range of critical concerns around caste, race, technology and society. Vishal’s artistic works have been shown at the Venice Biennale’s Research Pavilion, ARKO Art & Tech Festival, SITE Gallery Sheffield, Contemporary Calgary, HKW Berlin, Rencontres d’Arles 2023 and Center Clark in Montreal. He has been an artist in residence with the US Consulate General Mumbai, Contemporary Calgary in Alberta, SAVAC Toronto, videoclub UK, Onassis AiR and The Singapore Art Museum. Vishal was the inaugural guest curator at Arts House, City of Melbourne 2023-2024 and is a current research fellow at the Center for Contemporary Art, Derry~Londonderry.
