No matter your experience or skill level, creativity is for every woman. If you’ve been longing for a creative community, Make Her might be the perfect place for you.

Imagine a canvas where every stroke tells a story of love, strength, nature, and divine femininity.

Welcome to the enchanting world of Madhubani art, a centuries-old painting tradition born in the heart of India and Nepal. Madhubani is lovingly preserved by generations of women who transform everyday life into vibrant, symbolic expressions.

Join Make Her for a hands-on textiles workshop inspired by the bold colours and empowering legacy of Madhubani. Guided by Make Her artist Anamika, you’ll have the opportunity to paint your own Madhubani scarf, connecting with this rich tradition through creativity and self-expression.

About Anamika

Anamika is an accomplished embroiderer and Madhubani artist whose creative journey began at home, learning from her mother—her “first and best teacher.” Her work blends traditional Indian stitching techniques with contemporary textile design, embellishing sarees, garments, and fabrics with exquisite detail.

Her intricate Madhubani paintings have earned numerous awards and recognition, each piece a testament to her lifelong dedication to preserving and evolving traditional art forms. A proud native of Bihar, India—the birthplace of Madhubani—Anamika draws strength from her heritage, using her art to connect with women, inspire creativity, and encourage self-expression.

Anamika has collaborated with a range of arts organisations including ACE, Community Hubs, and the Art Gallery of NSW. She is also a featured artist in Jagath Dheerasekara’s current project Gaja: A Story of the Elephant, part of the exhibition In Every Room.
