This masterclass invites emerging dance artists into a deep exploration of collaboration, individuality, and collective creation, central themes of MSTM. Participants will engage in physical practice, improvisational tasks, and reflective discussion, guided by two intergenerational artists: Sue Healey, acclaimed choreographer and filmmaker, and Mitchell Christie, independent dance artist and educator.
Through embodied research and shared dialogue, participants will investigate:
– How to balance individuality within group collaboration.
– The interplay between structure and chance, chaos and order.
– How witnessing and perception shape performance.
– Tools from Healey’s choreographic and film practice and Christie’s Cunningham-informed and inclusive approaches.
